On a minor note, though, the province they live in is Shaanxi. You don’t need the long vowel marker ‘ because it was already made long with the double “a”. So you could write sha’nxi, shaanxi, or shǎnxi. Writing it like “sha’anxi” kind of makes it look like sha an xi, since in pinyin, ‘ marks a syllable break to denote the difference between xian and xi’an.
